Definition of Jeffreys, George in English:

1st Baron ( circa 1645–89), Welsh judge. Chief Justice of the King’s Bench from 1683, he took part in the Popish Plot prosecutions and later became infamous for his brutal sentencing at the Bloody Assizes.
