( 1933-), US composer, conductor, and jazz trumpeter; full name Quincy Delight Jones, Jr. He founded his own recording label, Qwest Records, in 1980. He also wrote television scores, such as the theme for The Bill Cosby Show and movie scores, such as for The Color Purple (1985), which he also produced.
