Definition of Markova, Dame Alicia in English:

( 1910–2004), British ballet dancer; born Lilian Alicia Marks. She made her debut with the Ballets Russes in 1924, established the Markova-Dolin Company in London with Anton Dolin (1904–83) in 1935, and was prima ballerina with the London Festival Ballet 1950–52. She directed the Metropolitan Opera Ballet 1963–69.
