Definition of Robeson, Paul in English:

( 1898–1976), US singer and actor; full name Paul Bustill Robeson. The song “Ol' Man River” in the musical Showboat (1927) established his international reputation. As an actor, he was particularly identified with the title role of Othello. His black activism and communist sympathies led to ostracism in the 1950s.
