Definition of St. Thomas in English:

An island in the Caribbean Sea, the second largest of the US Virgin Islands, east of Puerto Rico; population 53,700 (est. 2009); chief town, Charlotte Amalie. Settled by the Dutch in 1657, it passed to Denmark in 1666, which sold it to the US in 1917.
