Aurelius, Marcus

Pronunciation: /ôˈrēlēəs/
(121–80), Roman emperor 161–180; full name Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus. He was occupied for much of his reign with wars against invading Germanic tribes. His Meditations are evidence of his philosophical interest.
