Azad Kashmir

Pronunciation: /ˈäzäd käSHˈmi(ə)r/ /kaSH-/
An autonomous state in northeastern Pakistan, formerly part of Kashmir; administrative center, Muzzafarabad. It was established in 1949 after Kashmir was split as a result of the partition of India.

From Urdu, literally 'Free Kashmir'.
