Carothers, Wallace

Pronunciation: /kəˈrəT͟Hərz/
(1896–1937), US industrial chemist; full name Wallace Hume Carothers. He developed neoprene, the first successful synthetic rubber and also Nylon 6.6, a synthetic fiber.
