Clemenceau, Georges

Pronunciation: /ˌklemənˈsō/ Pronunciation: /ˌklāˌmäNˈsō/
(1841–1929), French statesman, prime minister 1906–09 and 1917–20; full name Georges Eugène Benjamin Clemenceau. At the Versailles peace talks he pushed hard for a punitive settlement with Germany, but failed to obtain all that he demanded.
