Definition of court hand in English:
A notoriously illegible style of handwriting used in English courts of law until banned in 1731.
- The original was written in court hand on vellum back in 1529 and is now not so easy to make out.
- I have done my best to decipher the Latin, which is written in court hand, and have left abbreviations intact.
