Relating to the cricoid and thyroid cartilages.

  • The surgeon identifies the anatomical landmarks (ie, thyroid notch, cricothyroid membrane, inferior margin of the cricoid cartilage) and marks them.
  • In addition to supplying the inferior constrictor muscle of the pharynx, the nerve may supply the cricothyroid muscle.
