Henson, Jim

Pronunciation: /ˈhensən/
(1936–90), US puppeteer; full name James Maury Henson. He created the Muppets, which became well known as the principal characters on television’s Sesame Street (1969-) and The Muppet Show (1976–81), as well as in a number of movies.
