Hooker, Sir Joseph Dalton

Pronunciation: /ˈho͝okər/
(1817–1911), English botanist and pioneer in phytogeography. He applied Darwin’s theories to plants and, with George Bentham (1800–84), he produced a work on classification, Genera Plantarum (1862–83).
