(1947-), English singer, pianist, and songwriter; born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; full name Sir Elton Hercules John. His hit songs include “Your Song” (1970), “Nikita” (1985), and “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” (1991). His “Candle in the Wind” (1997) tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, became the highest-selling single in history.
