Palmer, Arnold

(1929-), US golfer; full name Arnold Daniel Palmer. His many championship victories include the Masters in 1958, 1960, 1962, and 1964; the US Open in 1960; and the British Open in 1961 and 1962. The huge galleries attracted by Palmer whenever he played were dubbed “Arnie’s Army.”.
