Pizarro, Francisco

Pronunciation: /piˈzärō/ Pronunciation: /pēˈsä-/ Pronunciation: /-ˈTHä-/
(Circa 1478–1541), Spanish conquistador. He defeated the Inca empire and in 1533 set up a puppet monarchy at Cuzco. He built his own capital at Lima 1535, where he was assassinated.
