Praxiteles

Pronunciation: /prakˈsidlˌēz/
(Mid 4th century bc), Athenian sculptor. Only one of his works, Hermes Carrying the Infant Dionysus, survives. He is also noted for a statue of Aphrodite, of which there are only Roman copies.
