In all verbs except, be, there are two forms. One is the same as the verb stem and is used for all persons except the third person singular (he, she, it). The other is the verb stem plus ‘s,’ except for verbs that end with a vowel, like go where the ‘s’ is preceded by an ‘e’: go → goes.
