Scriabin, Aleksandr

(1872–1915), Russian composer and pianist; full name Aleksandr Nikolaevich Scriabin. Much of his later music reflects his interest in mysticism and theosophy, especially his third symphony. Notable works: The Divine Poem (1903) and Prometheus: The Poem of Fire (1909–10).
