Definition of slip rope in English:
A mooring rope with both ends on board ship, enabling the crew to cast off without disembarking.
- During this separation, the slip rope is allowed to slip through the ring and it will also be separated from the assembly.
- As Mags was preparing to catch the slip ropes on the lockside at the bow, she leaned out too far, lost her balance and fell overboard.
- The hose string should then be hung off the slip rope with the camlock flange at deck level and derrick hook disconnected.
