1A variety of white grape grown in South Africa.
- It needed to concentrate on more popular white varietals such as Chardonnay and, especially, Sauvignon Blanc rather than the insipid steen (Chenin Blanc).
South African Dutch, elliptically from steendruiven, literally 'stone grapes'.
