Warren, Robert Penn

Pronunciation: /ˈwôrən/
(1905–89), US poet, novelist, and critic. The first person to win Pulitzer Prizes in both fiction and poetry categories, he was made the US’s first poet laureate in 1986. Notable works: All the King’s Men (1946), A Place To Come To(1977), Promises(1957), Now and Then (1978).
