Waugh, Evelyn

(1903–66), English novelist; full name Evelyn Arthur St. John Waugh. His work was profoundly influenced by his conversion to Roman Catholicism in 1930. Notable works: Decline and Fall (1928) and Brideshead Revisited (1945).
