Zenobia

Pronunciation: /zəˈnōbēə/
(3rd century ad), queen of Palmyra circa 267–272. She conquered Egypt and much of Asia Minor. When she proclaimed her son emperor, the Roman emperor Aurelian attacked, defeated, and captured her.
