Berlin airlift Line breaks: Ber¦lin air|lift

Definition of Berlin airlift in English:

An operation by British and American aircraft to airlift food and supplies to Berlin in 1948-9, while Russian forces blockaded the city to isolate it from the West and terminate the joint Allied military government of the city. After the blockade was lifted the city was formally divided into East and West Berlin.
