Definition of Brisbane, Sir Thomas in English:

( 1773–1860), Scottish soldier and astronomer; full name Thomas Makdougall Brisbane. In 1790 he joined the army, becoming major general in 1813. He was governor of New South Wales (1821-5) and became an acclaimed astronomer.
