Definition of Lobachevsky, Nikolai Ivanovich in English:

( 1792–1856), Russian mathematician. At about the same time as Gauss and János Bolyai ( 1802–60), he independently discovered non-Euclidean geometry. His work was not widely recognized until the non-Euclidean nature of space-time was revealed by the general theory of relativity.
