( 1898–1936), Spanish poet and dramatist. His works include Gypsy Ballads (verse, 1928) and intense, poetic tragedies evoking the passionate emotions of Spanish life, notably Blood Wedding (1933). He was killed by nationalists in the Spanish Civil War.
