Definition of Loreto in English:

A town in eastern Italy, near the Adriatic coast to the south of Ancona; population 12,285 (2008). It is the site of the ‘Holy House’, said to be the home of the Virgin Mary and to have been brought from Nazareth by angels in 1295.
