Meroe Line breaks: Meroe

Definition of Meroe in English:

An ancient city on the Nile, in present-day Sudan north-east of Khartoum. Founded in circa 750 bc, it was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Cush from circa 590 bc until it fell to the invading Aksumites in the early 4th century ad.
