  • (1925–70), Japanese writer; pseudonym of Hiraoka Kimitake. His books include the four-volume The Sea of Fertility (1965–70), which deals with themes of reincarnation and the sterility of modern life. An avowed imperialist, he committed hara-kiri after failing to incite soldiers against the post-war regime.
