( 1945), Nicaraguan statesman, President 1985–90 and since 2007; full name Daniel Ortega Saavedra. He became the leader of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) in 1966 and first served as President after the Sandinista election victory in 1984. He was re-elected President in 2007.
