Definition of Persian Gulf in English:

An arm of the Arabian Sea, to which it is connected by the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman. It extends north-westwards between the Arabian peninsula and the coast of SW Iran. Also called Arabian Gulf and informally the Gulf.
