Definition of Pocahontas in English:

( Circa 1595–1617), American Indian princess, daughter of an Algonquian chief in Virginia. According to an English colonist, Pocahontas rescued him from death at the hands of her father. In 1613 she was seized as a hostage by the English and she later married another colonist, John Rolfe.
