Definition of Roosevelt, Eleanor in English:

( 1884–1962), American humanitarian and diplomat; full name Anna Eleanor Roosevelt. She was the niece of Theodore Roosevelt, and married Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1905. She was involved in a wide range of liberal causes; as chair of the UN Commission on Human Rights she helped draft the Declaration of Human Rights (1948).
