She also wrote novels such as Faithful Are the Wounds (1955), Mrs. Stevens Hears the Mermaids Singing (1965), and As We Are Now (1973) and memoirs such as I Knew a Phoenix (1959), Plant Dreaming Deep (1968), and At Eighty-Two (1996).
