Shute, Nevil Line breaks: Nevil Shute

( 1899–1960), English novelist; pseudonym of Nevil Shute Norway. After the Second World War he settled in Australia, which provides the setting for his later novels. Notable works: A Town Like Alice (1950) and On the Beach (1957).
