Aston, Francis William

Pronunciation: /ˈastən/
(1877–1945), English physicist. He invented the mass spectrograph (with J. J. Thomson) and eventually discovered many of the 287 naturally occurring isotopes of non-radioactive elements. Nobel Prize for Chemistry (1922).
