Brunelleschi, Filippo

Pronunciation: /ˌbruːnəˈlɛski/
(1377–1446), Italian architect; born Filippo di Ser Brunellesco. He is especially noted for the dome of Florence cathedral (1420–61), which he raised without the use of temporary supports. He is often credited with the Renaissancediscovery’ of perspective.
