Burnett, Frances Hodgson

(1849–1924), British-born American novelist; full name Frances Eliza Hodgson Burnett. She is remembered chiefly for her novels for children, including Little Lord Fauntleroy (1886), A Little Princess (1905), and The Secret Garden (1911).
