Each of a number of strips forming a framework for enclosing a pane of glass, especially in a leaded window.
- Lead was used to make window cames for holding stained glass in windows, and can be found particularly at cathedral sites.
- While putty was once necessary to stabilize the glass in the grooves of the lead cames, glass is held in the modern copper cames with adhesive.
- These cames are soldered to one another so that the panel is secure.
