A viral disease affecting plants, especially beets and members of the gourd family, spread by beetles, particularly the beet leafhopper. Infected plants become dwarfed and have puckered, distorted foliage.
- And they're working on new sugar beets that resist one or both of those fungal diseases - along with curly top virus.
- Foliar diseases such as Cercospora leaf spot, curly top, and powdery mildew do occur, but are normally easier to control than soilborne diseases.
