Darling, Grace

Pronunciation: /ˈdɑːlɪŋ/
(1815–42), English heroine. The daughter of a lighthouse keeper on the Farne Islands off the coast of Northumberland, she achieved fame in September 1838 when she and her father rowed through a storm to rescue the survivors of the wrecked ship Forfarshire.
