Dowson, Ernest

Pronunciation: /ˈdaʊs(ə)n/
(1867–1900), English poet, associated with the ‘decadent’ school of Oscar Wilde and Aubrey Beardsley; full name Ernest Christopher Dowson. His two books of poems, Verses (1896) and Decorations (1899), deal with themes of ennui and world-weariness.
