Dzerzhinsky, Feliks

Pronunciation: /dzəːˈʒɪnski/
(1877–1926), Russian Bolshevik leader, of Polish descent; full name Feliks Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky. He was the organizer and first head of the post-revolutionary Soviet security police (the Cheka, later the OGPU).
