Earhart, Amelia

Pronunciation: /ˈɛːhɑːt/
(1897–1937), American aviator. In 1932 she became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic solo. Her aircraft disappeared over the Pacific Ocean during a subsequent round-the-world flight with the loss of Earhart and her navigator.
