A grey crystalline copper-containing mineral, of which tetrahedrite and tennantite are the typical forms.
- Amongst the thirty recognised Bronze Age mine sites in the British Isles, fahlerz minerals are present in ore quantities only at Ross Island, Killarney, Ireland.
- Hence fahlerz taken from different places within the same orebody may show quite disparate compositions.
