Flinders, Matthew

Pronunciation: /ˈflɪndəz/
(1774–1814), English explorer. He explored the coast of New South Wales (1795–1800) and circumnavigated Australia (1801-3) for the Royal Navy, charting much of the west coast of the continent for the first time.
