A widely distributed mushroom with a tall, narrow cap and slender white stem, turning into a black liquid after the spores are shed.

- The Common Ink Cap has a smooth appearance without the noticeable shaggy looking outer covering.
- I have to say I am still a bit puzzled, I don't think they are common ink caps, they are very brown and more sturdy than I would expect, also that very low ring zone with the scales beneath is a distinctive feature.
