Jackson, Thomas Jonathan

Pronunciation: /ˈdʒaks(ə)n/
(1824–63), American Confederate general; known as Stonewall Jackson. During the American Civil War he made his mark as a commander at the first battle of Bull Run in 1861 and later became the deputy of Robert E. Lee.
